After giving a hug to family friend Lionel Richie , Michael Jackson 's two eldest children Prince Michael (12) and Paris Katherine (11) paid tribute to their late father at Sunday night's (Jan 31) Grammy Awards by accepting his Lifetime Achievement Award on his behalf. Poised and very articulate, Prince spoke first and thanked God, their grandparents and the King of Pop's fans for all of their support over the past seven months. "We are proud to be here to accept this award on behalf of our father, Michael Jackson," said Prince Michael.

Over-the-top performances were not the only trend at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards last night — being able to see the performances was also key to some stars! While 3-D glasses were required for the Michael Jackson performance, celebs like Robert Downey Jr. and Simon Baker opted for sporting some thick-framed specs the whole night! Thick-framed glasses were spotted on the faces of several stars at the Staples Center on Jan. 31 in L.A. including: Robert Downey Jr., Simon Baker, Joe Jonas and even young Paris Jackson !  

As I told you yesterday, Michael Jackson's kids paid tribute to their father last night at the Grammys with a speech and then accepted his lifetime achievement award. Unfortunately, young Blanket became overwhelmed moments before he was supposed to go on stage, and he hung back while Prince Michael and Paris went out to accept the award. There's nothing to snark about here.  

Rihanna showed up a few minutes late and security guards wouldn't let her in the theater. Rihanna had to stand outside the doors with a crowd pressed up against her until the opening act was over. She was spotted craning her neck to watch Lady Gaga and Elton John 's performance on a TV monitor.

US President Barack Obama will visit Indonesia and Australia next month. The Tel Aviv District Court has acquitted a man suspected of attempted indecent assault and sexual harassment. Two senior officers in the Israeli Defence Force have been reprimanded for using white phosphorus during an offensive in Gaza. The Malaysian press has reported an adulterous couple were fined four buffaloes and a pig after being found guilty of an extra-marital affair.  

Beyoncé dominated the night as the Grammys made history on Sunday. Storming in with a whopping ten nominations, Sasha Fierce herself made a new record bagging six gongs at the event. Song of the year went to 'Single Ladies (put a ring on it)'.

At the 52nd annual ceremony on Jan. 31, Taylor Swift won Album of the Year for Fearless, and Beyonce (picture above) won six of the 10 awards for which she was nominated, including Song of the Year for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)." Green Day picked up Rock Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album went to Black Eyed Peas for The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies).  

She didn't take home album of the year. But Beyonce grabbed just about every other award in sight at the Grammys last night, and made history in the process. She ended up with six awards, giving her the most wins by any female in a single night at the Grammys.  

Who would have guessed a band that named their breakthrough album after dog droppings would end up on Broadway? Green Day — whose lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong lives part-time in Minnesota — performed with the cast of "American Idiot," the new musical based on the band's music that's set to open on Broadway in April. And, what do you know, their seemingly "Glee"-inspired "21 Guns" wasn't bad at all.
